Somewhere between an industrial manufacturing plant and the stripper pole aesthetic lies the ceiling mounted sink faucet. Unless you have some sort of bizarre water pressure problem where you need pipes coming down from the ceiling, I don’t see how this would look attractive. Plus it would block your view a bit in the vanity mirror. And we wouldn’t want that.
