Atomix is a little 5″ square gadget that allows you to create an infinite number of fractal patterns just by shaking it up. Designed by Francois Dallegret in 1966 as a physics teaching tool, the acrylic and stainless steel device contains 6000 high precision stainless steel balls.
The Atomix is part of the Design Collection in New York City’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). It would be really good as a classy desk toy for an executive or person interested in science. Priced at $59, it ships free from Gnr8.
