Hackmaster general Ben Heck has put together a quick and dirty little hack; he took a simple hand crank flashlight and hooked it up to his power hungry HTC EVO to create a sweet little eco-friendly hand cranked charger. Sure this hack may not be as extensive and droolworthy as some of his other projects like the PS3 Laptop but it does look easy enough to do that the slightly above average Joe could make one of these themselves.
