Brooklyn based photographer Dalton Rooney had a problem- he was lugging around heavy large format camera equipment in a backpack through the marshy and wooded areas of New York City (really!) and it was hurting his back. So Dalton took matters into his own hands- he bought a jogging stroller off Craiglist, took the rear axle and wheels and attached his frame backpack to create a camera carrying beast he calls the Mastodon. The Mastodon is perfect for off road backpacking with heavy equipment. He still needs to work on it a bit to give it a kickstand and eliminate the topheaviness it has with the tripod attached but it looks pretty professional as it is. Nice job Dalton.
