Japan is famous for it’s firefly squid (also known as the sparkling enope squid), which come to the surface each spring for an elaborate mating ritual filled with watery cobalt blue bioluminescence much to the delight of tourists and locals. Yes I googled that because I had never heard of the firefly squid and now I want to travel to Japan next spring to see them. But apparently it’s popular enough to warrant it’s own $70 2GB USB drive in a package “exactly like those that are sold in supermarkets”. Maybe in your supermarket, but certainly not mine.
