Using a Hard Drive to Pick a Lock

You can use a hard drive to pick a lock. How? I’m not entirely sure; I’ve read the instructions, watched the video and all I can figure out is that the vibrations from the hard drive are used to shake a screwdriver turned lock pick inside a simple lock and open it within seconds. It seems like a high tech solution to a low tech problem. I’m guessing I could tape a screwdriver to my washing machine and do the same thing. Clearly I’m no expert on lock picking.
