Old iPods Turned into Speakers…for iPods

For $100 one crafty geek DIY’er made himself a pair of speakers from old iPod shells. It looks pretty cool, albeit slightly rough edged. Hollowed out and with a speaker where the click-wheel used to be, there’s a 2.25″ speaker in there powered by a standard AA battery. To make these required some soldering, gluing, and dremmeling (a level of craftmanship way above my abilities- which stops at gluing and duct taping) as well as some tricky electrical work involving potentiometers, multimeters and capacitors.
