Power Strip with Integrated Wattage Checker

Why isn’t this watt checker a standard feature in all power strips? Other electricity checking systems requiring hooking things up to your power meter and then checking a handheld remote unit or plugging things into a special wattage checker. This makes such perfect sense, you’re already going to be plugging a number of things into the power strip, why not be able to see how much power is being used?

An on/off switch next to each outlet makes it easy to determine what device is using what amount of power and then to conserve energy as you see fit. This is a real product developed by Japan’s Sanwa (model 700-TP1052DW) but I’m not really sure if or how you can buy it in the U.S. (sorry!).
