Canon 5DmkII Outfitted with a 100 Year Old Lens

This bizarre looking lens is an antique 1908 Wollensak 35mm F5.0 Cine-Velostigmat lens screwed onto a new Canon 5D Mark II digital camera. The resulting photos look like something that would take you a long time in Photoshop to get that “old timey” look. Here’s a few NYC shots:

Timur Civan is man behind this lens and he would have taken more pictures if he wasn’t continually stopped by people asking him about his lens (maybe if he had a Cloak Bag, he’d do better). It took 6 hours of angle grinding and retrofitting to get the old film lens to fit on the new digital camera but the results are solid.
