I’m not sure if the Smart Phone Sleeper is the most ridiculous product ever or straight up pure genius. It basically takes a car-style flexible neck cell phone mount and makes it at least 5 times as long and with a big flat base. You can slip the base under your mattress, couch cushion, own buttocks, or just balance it on the floor.

Now you can use your phone hands-free in bed, just like that content looking scraggly dude on the iRock sheets above (and you do rock, dawg, you really do). Retail is about $35 each. Sure it’s probably good for watching movies on your phone but it just looks so odd because it’s so much larger than the device. I don’t know about this one. What do you think?

If trees could talk, what would they say? Well they don’t actually talk, they play music. Sort of. Bartholomäus Traubeck, a modern day Lorax, has created this specially designed record player called “Years” that visually scans a slice of wood and maps out the color and texture of the tree’s rings into a piece of music. Listen to the silent trees in the video below:

The knot makes it pretty interesting sounding. Ambient and minimalist. The camera is a hacked Playstation Eye Camera. Since every tree’s rings are different, Years plays each record sized slice of tree trunk in a unique way. (via next web)

There’s nothing fishy about the USB Lobster Mouse (well besides the fact that the product description says it has a crocodile shape). Unfortunately for our “lobster roll” pun, this mouse is an optical one so it doesn’t have a trackball.

It does have a retractable USB cord, so you can reel it in. Comes in silver, black, and red (no bisque?) for the seafood lover in you. $10 from Brando.

I have no explanation for the Edward Scissorpaws Mouse. Really, Johnny Depp as a tiny mouse defies any logical explanation, yet is somehow appealing. It makes me think of Steve Carrell’s character in Dinner for Schmucks.
