I’m pretty sure Yoda has never touched a pen in his life but now you can write with Yoda when you have a Lego Star Wars Pen. Since it is a Lego product, you can rearrange the mini-fig and blocks on the top of the pen to your liking. Definitely more interesting than the boring pen your using now. These come in a variety of Star Wars characters beyond what is shown above too in case you don’t like Yoda (in which case, maybe you’ve hit your head or are not feeling well? cause everyone loves Yoda).

Your Lego creations can now do so much more with Brick Brites, the Lego compatible bricks that light up. The bricks are available in three different colors- red, blue, and green and allow you to do such cool things as make light-up emergency vehicles:

They fit right in to your existing sets, no problems. The bricks only light up when you tap them and are good for 100 hours of light, so that should last a very long time. A tiny LED inside the brick does the lighting. Pretty cool stuff, a whole new dimension to Lego (and other compatible major brick building brands).

The Lego Ultrabuild Superhero series is pretty cool. It comes in Batman, The Joker, and Green Lantern figures. Each one stands about 8 inches tall and lets you interchange the parts and weaponry to create unique versions of the characters.

It wouldn’t be Lego if you couldn’t mix it up like that. But it’s not your traditional bricks, they use a new ball-joint type of building block that allows for more flexibility and maneuverability. You can even combine multiple figures to create super-superheroes.

Each set has 38-57 pieces and costs about $15. Each character sold separately.

What do you get when you combine Legos and crayons? You get Stack-a-Doodle, the crayons you can build with. Each set includes 13 crayon blocks allowing your inner child or actual child to get creative. You no longer have to make such tough choices like “color or build?” Now you can do both (until you color so much that the block gets worn down).

We’re back from the New York Toy Fair 2012 and look what we saw- a Lego Hulk. Now sure, you are probably saying to yourself big deal, I can make the Incredible Hulk out of Legos on my lunch break. Well first of all, how long is your lunch break? Secondly, make sure you eat something with some protein so you don’t get the 3 o’clock lulls. Thirdly, could you really make a Hulk THIS FREAKIN’ BIG?

Yeah I didn’t think so, tough guy. The temptation to just smash that Hulk to bits (uhh “accidentally” of course) or at least karate chop his arm was quite strong. I wonder if they glued the pieces…only one way to find out. Hulk Smash!

LEGO’s are cool but once you buy a particular set you are locked in to that theme. Suddenly you’re using your space figures in a fire station and it just doesn’t make sense. Nine year old Greyson MacLean came up with a better idea: BrickStix. These “stickers” are actually reusable vinyl clings that attach to all major brands of building bricks (LEGO, MegaBloks, etc) allowing you to customize the bricks to your liking over and over again. With the help of his family, the product made it to the retail market and Greyson won a Young Inventor of the Year award. Each themed pack comes with around 80 clinging decals for your bricks. They’ve got some cool themes going on- outer space, city, rescue, and my favorite: splats (footprints, paint splatters, damage, destruction and mayhem), all for under $10. Nice job Greyson.

LEGO’s are a ton of fun but the pieces always seem to end up all over the place. Plus it can be heard to dig through all those pieces to find the size piece you need. No more! The Lego Sort and Store gets all the pieces organized and in one fun place. The giant sized Lego mini-fig head opens up to reveal a series of sifter levels:

Put your pieces in the top, close it up, and give it a good shake and the pieces will sort themselves out by size as they fall (or don’t fall) through the grids. This head measures about a foot high and can hold over 1000 Lego pieces! It’s a neatfreak’s best friend and kids will love stuffing the head full of bricks too. Marshal Banana (probably not his real name) is a huge Star Wars and Lego fan. He has created this huge Sandcrawler from over 10,000 Lego pieces. It’s over 3 feet long and practically big enough to fit a real Jawa in there. Speaking of the inside- look at the attention to detail:

That’s a 3 level interior with a fully detailed cockpit. It weighs over 45 pounds and took 9 months to build. There’s 4 battery packs in there and it’s fully motorized including the drop down ramp.

Sure he could have just bought the official LEGO Star Wars Sandcrawler but what fun would that be with only 1700 or so pieces. Check out the video to get a sense of scale of this monster and to see it move a bit:
