An apple a day keeps the doctor away, or so the expression goes. This nifty wall calendar holds a month’s worth of apples at an angle, dispensing one a day and allowing you to see the date by the number of apples you have left. That’s all well and good but by the last week of the month you’re probably going to need to see a doctor from eating rancid month old apples. If you know where AOK Health you can see this calendar in their branch offices.

Bacon, is there anything you can’t do? Seriously. Hate that gummy taste of envelope glue you get when you’re sealing up envelopes? What is that exactly? Well move over mystery adhesive, now there’s something better. The appropriately named Mmmvelopes gives your envelopes that nice porky tang you’ve been desiring. Bacon flavored envelopes, FTW! I’d be just a bit worried if I was the mailman though because dogs love bacon too. Mmm.

This 14 foot tall model of a McDonald’s Big Mac is the world’s largest Big Mac replica. This big fake sandwich is located inside the Big Mac Museum, “the most tasteful museum in the world”, which is inside the McDonald’s restaurant in North Huntingdon, PA. The museum was opened in 2007 for the Big Mac’s 40th anniversary. Ok, all together now- two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. Pop quiz: if there’s 540 calories in a standard Big Mac, how many are in a Big Mac as big as this giant replica?

Yum! This is not the cake you’re looking for- YES IT IS- your Jedi mind tricks won’t work on me. It’s a great looking cake in the form of a LEGO Star Wars Stormtrooper. Crafted by Dawn Leckie of Auroracakes (of Moray, Scotland!), for Daniel’s 8th birthday, it has giant Lego bricks in front for a nice balanced look. If I was looking for a cake and happened to be near Elgin, I’d definitely be giving Dawn a call.

Tis the season… for gingerbread nerd treats. We’ve seen a boatload of Star Wars baked goods but rare is the Star Trek dessert, so here we go. It’s the famed Star Trek Enterprise made of gingerbread created by the lovely AubreyH4. This doesn’t look to hard to create yourself at home if anyone out there wants to take a stab at it (says the guy who’s most complex dish is garlic grilled cheese). Nice work Aubrey.

Sure, plenty of people have Star Wars cakes made for their special occasions but most of those people go with the basics like Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker or Yoda or the Death Star. Rarely do we see such fanboy dedication that would request a cake based on a character such as Emperor Palpatine aka Darth Sidious. It’s not that he’s evil, because everyone loves the evilly iconic Darth Vader, it’s because he’s not a particularly likable character. This fantastic looking cake from JensPartyCakes makes the villain look positively tasty! Yum. Way to think outside the (cake) box, James. Enjoy your cake.

Check out this super sweet (pun definitely intended!) cake from master baker Debbie Does Cakes. It’s Star War’s own Yoda. Very realistic, it doesn’t even look like cake! And yes I think I just called Yoda realistic, whatevs. This 16″ tall cake uses a glowstick for the lightsaber which is a pretty simple yet innovative touch. The light from the glowstick is only temporary of course but then again so is the cake especially if it’s anywhere near me. Save me the Yoda ear, I hear that’s the best part.
