iconnect mac 500x361 iHome iConnect Keyboard with iPod Dock Looks Pretty iSweet
Coming sometime late this summer is the new iConnect Keyboard from iHome. Available in both Mac (silver, model IH-K231MS) and Windows PC (black model IH-K230MB), this modern looking keyboard has an integrated iPod/iPhone dock right on the side. The Mac version has integrated application launcher keys while both versions have a pair of USB ports. The keyboard itself connects via USB, natch. The built in rubberized wrist rest makes it look like a laptop without the screen. Sort of. These keyboards will run you $150 which is in my opinion, totally not worth it. On the one hand, the dock is really sweet, but really I’d expect more for that price.

lap desk with fan 500x422 Lap Desk with Notebook Computer Cooling Fan
Sometimes laptop computers can get extremely hot on the bottom (I’m look at you Apple MacBook), enough to scald your legs or make it uncomfortable to use the computer. Many computer accessory companies now make cooling fans to keep laptops cool, which not only saves your leg but can prolong the life of the computer by keeping internal parts cooler. A lap desk can come in handy for using your notebook computer on the bed or couch or even floor by raising it up to an ergonomic level.

Here’s a unique lap desk from Japanese company Sanwa that combines dual cooling fans with a traditional lap desk. The dual fan system and lifting tray, enables your laptop to stay cool and be angled more comfortably for typing. The right hand side has a flat area that can be used as a mousepad or for note taking on paper and in the back right there’s a cupholder for your coffee or beer. The legs fold up for flat use and the fan plugs into your computer via USB. Cool (literally).

Numeric Keypad with a Spacebar

keypad with spacebar 500x240 Numeric Keypad with a Spacebar
If you type in numbers into your computer all day long than surely you can appreciate having a separate numeric keypad. Having a separate number pad allows you to position it on your desk for optimal comfort while you go about your data entry heavy job. Most keypads have a few extra keys on there besides just the 10 numbers- typically there will be an enter key and a few calculating keys as well. It’s unusual to see a keypad like this one with a handy spacebar tacked on to the bottom. If you need to enter sequences of numbers separated by a space, this could be exceptionally useful for your job (or for fun, if you enter numbers in all day long for fun like me). Like everything else these days, it’s powered by USB and costs a smidgen under $10.

Combimouse is a Mouse Keyboard

Posted by: Jeff In: Computer Gadgets

combimouse Combimouse is a Mouse Keyboard
The Combimouse combines the mouse and keyboard into one strange computer accessory. The design is of a split QWERTY keyboard style with two halves, one for each hand. Hunt and peck typers probably need not apply for this one. The right hand side of the keyboard has the direction arrows set off under the last few letters to give the bottom of the keyboard a mouse-like shape. Interesting idea but I somehow don’t really see it taking off. Looks awkward to use just based on looks.

Cat Fur Keyboard

cat fur keyboard Cat Fur Keyboard
Yes ladies and gentleman, this is an actual product for sale- the Cat Fur Keyboard. Now let’s play guess what country this comes from…ding ding ding.. Japan!!! CraziestGadgets loves Japan (and not just for their gadgets! we are sushi freaks!). Apparently it’s not real cat fur but rather faux cat fur not that it matters one way or the other. It’s a freakin’ fur-lined keyboard. As Fran Tarkenton, John Davidson and Cathy Lee Crosby would say.. that’s incredible!

Transforming Laser Mouse

trypticon transforming laser mouse 499x249 Transforming Laser Mouse
You can’t really expect much out of your mouse- you want it to move you cursor around on the screen, maybe be comfortable, maybe have extra programmable buttons, and maybe be a little bit crazy and have the form factor of some novelty item. But you surely wouldn’t expect your mouse to physically transform into something else. But that’s exactly what this Trypticon Transforming Laser Mouse does- it transforms from a working laser mouse to a Trypticon, which is some sort of robotic dinosaur? What the heck is that thing? Interestingly they chose not to make it wireless which would make it sort of difficult to play with the dino-robot beyond the 3 foot radius of your desk. On the other hand, you could unplug it and swing it around in the air like a helicoptersaurusbot.

Asus F6V Laptop Comes Scent Infused

asus f6v scent laptop 500x484 Asus F6V Laptop Comes Scent Infused
Asus just announced their latest laptop, the F6V, a 13.3 inch notebook computer. Which would not be particularly notable if not for the fact that it comes with one of two different flavors of infused scents- either “morning dew” or “musky black”. Besides the unique aromas emanating from your laptop, Asus has also outfitted the F6V with a ATI Radeon HD4570 graphics processor, 1280×800 resolution screen, stereo speakers and a 1.3M webcam and is available in either white or black (it’s unclear if the colors directly correlate to the infused scents or not). Sounds interesting, although personally I would probably like to smell before buying.
