A creative and infinitely reconfigurable flooring option, the Imperial Rug is basically a giant jigsaw puzzle. Designed by Nauris Kalinauskas, each carpet tile measures 15.7″ x 17.7″, so you’ll need about 50 to cover a 5′ x 8′ area. The tiles come in 13 different colors (10 same-color pieces per box). Here’s some laid out with a person on it for scale:

Ain’t that pretty? You can mix and match and re-arrange these rug pieces any way you want to cover any size or shaped area. Similar to Flor modular carpet tiles, they are great for kids and clumsy adults because if you get a stain on them that you can’t remove, the whole rug isn’t ruined- just remove and replace the individual piece. By the way, you’ll need 75 of these pieces to cover enough floorspace for the World’s Largest Jigsaw Puzzle. $99 for a box of 10 @ Gnr8.
