Rubik’s Slide: Video Review

Rubik’s Slide is the new electronic puzzle toy from the makers of the Rubik’s Cube. The puzzle has a 3 by 3 face of light up squares. The Slide gives you an initial setup of a few lit squares and you press the check button on top to see what your goal is. You then move the top of the Slide in all four directions to “slide” the lit squares around the board until they match your goal. You can also twist the top to rotate the lit squares. Here’s our video review showing how it works:

There are three levels of difficulty plus a lightning mode which is timed for a total of 10,000 different puzzles. It’s about half the size of a Rubik’s cube (will fit in your pocket!) and just as challenging. However, it is simple enough that a less advanced player (like a kid) could easily solve the boards on the easy level and eventually work their way up to more difficult ones. Fun toy and a good holiday gift for people who like puzzles. Available at Amazon and ThinkGeek.
