
A project called Ikea Robotics by designer Adam Lassy takes ordinary Ikea furniture and adds an intelligent motor with a proximity sensor to them. Now the furniture moves around the room reacting to different situations. Tables move in front of chairs, chairs move into place when extra people join the party, the furniture dynamically reconfigures interior space in response to people. And yes, my title would be 10000000 times better if this was done using Empire Style furniture instead of modern Ikea furniture.
