There’s a trend in alarm clocks these days where you are required to do certain unusual tasks in order to turn the alarm off. Usually those involve solving a puzzle or hitting some sort of target- things that will ensure you are really awake and not just mindlessly hitting snooze. But this might be the first alarm clock we’ve seen that is actually beneficial to your long term health.

Designed by Seung-hee Ryu, the Stretching Alarm Clock concept (I know, concept, but interesting) is basically a pillow with the alarm clock inside it and a pair of arm-like pieces of fabric attached. You pull on the fabric in a stretching position to turn off the alarm. The only problem I see is that there’s really no guarantee that you will not just stretch, turn off the alarm clock, and then go right back to sleep.
