
This lamp, called “Sailor” was designed by Julia Reischel (de) and is made to evoke the image of a buoy. The weighted bottom allows the lamp to lean into any angled position. The lamp has a built-in motion sensor that makes the light dimmer, the closer the light bulb gets to the ground.

I’m not sure if this is just a design or if it actually made it to production. Either way what I don’t get is how the light bulb doesn’t break when/if the lamp rocks right into a wall or the floor and how exactly it stays balanced in any position that’s not directly upright. But hey, it looks good, so there’s that.
