Here’s an interesting kitchen design concept from Hanna Sandström with Green Fortune & Whirlpool. It basically just integrates a tiny greenhouse into your refrigerator door. The system can be automated using the fridge’s existing water dispenser lines to water the plants when needed as well as light them up. This concept could be pretty revolutionary for items like herbs and lettuce as you could buy them in the supermarket and then essentially replant them on your fridge door to prolong their lifespan and preserve freshness. Is this a feature we will see in our future kitchens? Maybe.
