Be warned readers- Michael Paul Smith is about to blow your mind. You see these lovely photos above and below of a nice bungalow in a small town and you are probably thinking to yourself- has Craziest Gadgets turned into a photography blog?

Well if you look below you will realize exactly why these are posted- that is not a real bungalow at all- it’s an incredibly photographed model.

Yep- that’s a scale model that Michael takes photos of in front of real outdoor backgrounds to make them appear to be real. No photoshop or other digital trickery is used, just placing the models on a table and lining the camera up to create the proper sense of scale with the background.

The models themselves are are 1/24th scale and are constructed of Gator board, styrene plastic, Sintra (a light flexible plastic that can be carved, and painted) plus numerous found objects; such as jewelery pieces, finishing washers and printed material. Check out Michael’s Flickr page for many many more of these mindblowing scale models- it’s hard to believe they are not real buildings!
