Patients with Alzheimer’s are known to wander away from their caregivers and often can’t adequately recall or express where they should be to people that find them. Apparently the figure is that 60% of patients will wander off at some point! Rather than having to keep searching for lost Alzheimer’s patients, Aetrex Worldwide and GTS Corp have teamed up to put GPS transmitters inside shoes. The devices are accurate to within 30 feet, and safety zones can be set, so as soon as a patient leaves the zone they can easily be found. Probably not a bad idea for kids either.
