
How awesome does this Star Wars cake look? It’s got to be difficult to make an AT-AT cake due to the top heavy nature of the machine’s design. You’ve got to balance the cake. The trick here is to make the legs out of wood and then cover them in frosting (it’s sort of like necessary cheating I think). Here’s a shot of the cake making in progress to give you a sense of scale:

That’s pretty substantial sized! The cake was made by Jennifer Luxmore of Sin Desserts (RI) and costs the recipient a mere $5000 for this edible geek masterpiece. It took around 60 hours to make. No info on how long it took to eat. Yum.
