The students at an NYU interactive telecommunications design class have come up with a way to keep your feet in the air as you travel around town with the Skybike- an upside down bicycle. It’s not the bicycle that’s upside down, it’s the cyclist- held in place by a series of (hopefully strong) straps. Unfortunately it’s designed in such a way that the rider has to pedal backwards to move forwards. It doesn’t look particularly comfortable to ride- I’d be afraid of whacking my head against something on the ground. Here’s the video of the Skybike in action in Washington Square Park, New York City:
