Here’s a really awesome hack, a (partially completed) R2D2 that is controlled by an iPhone. Still a work in progress, the creator of this moving robot has set it up so that the accelerometer feature of the iPhone controls the dome top of Artoo. By tilting the iPhone, the head turns. So far so good, I’d like to see this when fully completed including the R2 skin. Here’s a quick video demonstrating it in action:
