Here’s an interesting adaptive reuse for a discarded washing machine drum: convert it into an awesome lamp/end table. Produced by Reestore, the Silvana Lamp is covered in a frosted glass top so it functions as an end table as well as a lamp casing a soft ambient glow through the many cheese-grater type holes in the metal drum. The end result is pretty stunning (and pricey at around $500) and if you didn’t know it came from old washing machines, you probably would have never guessed.
