Kiting is making a huge comeback ever since the release of The Kiterunner and it’s subsequent popularity. Actually I have no idea if that’s true, but it sounded pretty good, right? Anyway, for those of you out there looking to combine your interests in late 70′s SciFi movies and the sport of flying a kite now you can with the Star Wars Kites.
Available in both Darth Vader and R2D2, you can send your favorite Star Wars characters aloft on the wind (so long as it’s between 8 and 20mph). Darth measures an imposing 54″ across and R2 is 39″ tall. Both are made of rip-stop nylon for strength. I think it’s interesting that they chose to make kites out of the characters and not any of the 392 things in the movie that actually fly. Like the spaceships for starters. Or Yoda.
