A Japanese group has designed an artificial houseplant where the leaves are actually solar panels. This “power plant” (rimshot please!) looks relatively like a regular houseplant. It certainly looks better than my own plants with their brown droopy leaves, hunched over like an old man, crying in pain for some water. The aim of the project is to create super thin solar cells that could eventually be used in all sorts of everyday products from windows to outdoor furniture. Just make sure NOT to water this plant.
