Book Review: A Million Random Digits with 100,000 Normal Deviates

The book A Million Random Digits with 100,000 Normal Deviates is a fantastic read. I’m predicting it to be this summer’s hottest beach book- the next Harry Potter. To be honest, it started out a bit slow. The numbers weren’t really flowing, there was little to no plot, and character development was just average.. until I hit this passage on page four:

Then everything started to fall into place. (SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT) Once the author went into the whole 9444822204 followed by 344747882, I couldn’t believe it! The book had suddenly become a page turner. It was moving like a chase scene from the Bourne movies. There was no way he was going to follow that up with a series of four 8’s, four 9’s, and four 7’s but then what do I see? Booya: 888899997777. Totally random, yet stark and introspective. A heartwarming tale you’ll want to share with your family. A treasured book to read over and over again.

And I don’t want to give away the ending, but those who’ve read it already will get this joke from the book: 337524932404412. LOL! The only question now is- when does the movie adaptation come out? And who’s going to play 39140148? I think George Clooney could definitely pull it off well.
