Horizontally Wall Mounted Dishwasher Concept

Posted on Wednesday 30 April 2008

mural dishwasher
The Mural Dishwasher concept from designers Marie-Christine Lacasse & Marie Claude Savard reinvents the dishwasher by hanging it on the wall. The Mural combines the dishwasher with your storage cabinets so the dishes are washed where they are stored. There is no need to move the dishes out of the dishwasher when they are clean, they are already put away. The cleaning mechanism slides along the shelf with water being fed and returned through the attached hose. It’s an interesting concept but if you don’t do your dishes every day then you are storing dirty dishes along with your clean and that’s not sanitary at all.

talking bug zapper
Put some humor into your backyard bug killing with the Talking Bug Zapper. The non-clogging zapper speaks 15 “hysterical” phrases like “That’s gonna leave a mark!” and “Goodbye, cruel world!” as the bugs meet their maker. The zapper can clear 1/2 acre of the annoying critters with it’s two AA batteries. The video on the store’s website shows is worth a peek for comedic value:

Soil Lamp Runs on Mud

Posted on Wednesday 30 April 2008

soil lamp
The Soil Lamp by Marieke Staps runs on mud. The lamp has copper and zinc strips coming out from the bottom of it and uses the soil as an electrolyte to power the LED light (just like a potato battery you created in grade school). The soil does need occasional waterings to keep it muddy so the reactions can continue to light the lamp up but beyond that, it should be maintenance free. This is the type of light that would be perfect for lighting up a shady path or garden area- just stick it in the soil and that’s it. Oddly, it doesn’t appear to have an on/off switch.
